1st vs. 2nd Generation Systems

Mobile weighing systems for forklift that rely on a forklift’s hydraulic pressure to weigh pallets and containers are equipped with a sensor that converts a forklifts’ hydraulic pressure to microvolts.  The Indicator on these systems analyzes the microvolts variations and converts them into pounds or kilograms.  When this type of mobile weighing system was first introduced to the market, it was considered both innovative and the first of its kind due to its robustness and speed. Unfortunately, these 1st generation mobile weighing systems (still available on the market today) have shown to have a very significant design flaw: lack of accuracy.

The sensor on these 1st generation mobile weighing systems is located at the end of a hose that is connected directly to the forklift’s hydraulic circuitry. This design relies heavily on a forklift operator’s ability to consistently reproduce the exact same parameters at every weighing that were used to initially calibrate the system.  Since it is technically impossible for a forklift operator to consistently reproduce the same parameters and processes at each weigh-in, weight measurements vary significantly, producing inaccurate and unreliable weight results.

The 2nd generation mobile weighing system such as the FL100-Ind is equipped with a sophisticated Indicator that uses an advanced algorithm for analyzing variations in microvolts. In addition, the sensor unit is enclosed in a special manifold that is installed in parallel to the forklifts’ hydraulic circuitry (instead of being connected serially to the circuitry).  These innovative components form a system that automatically controls accurately all necessary parameters to ensure a precise and easy calibration.  At each weigh-in, the system reproduces automatically and precisely those parameters eliminating the human factor and providing exceptional accuracy in weight measurements.
